I’m Behnam Najmoddin — an Iranian film director, screenwriter, and producer. I was born in Semnan, Iran, and studied cinema at university. Over the years, I’ve tried to create works that come from my own experiences and perspective, both in film and in literature.

Alongside directing, writing, and producing my own films, I’ve had the chance to collaborate with Iranian and international filmmakers on more than fifty documentary and fiction projects, often as a director’s advisor or editor. Some of my films, including Night-shift Mannequin (2023), Hazrat Chance (2023), and Scarecrow and Painter (2019), have been screened at international festivals — experiences that have shaped my artistic path.

Beyond filmmaking, I lead the Independent Filmmakers Institute, serve as Editor-in-Chief of Natamam Cultural & Arts Magazine, head the Kumesh Independent Theatre Group, and manage the Zivazhe multimedia group. I also teach cinema at Damghan University and the Iranian Youth Cinema Society — a part of my work that keeps me constantly learning and inspired.
